Inexpensive picture prop haul | marble + copper

I'm always looking for props for my blogpost photos and I've been using the same ones for a long time. Over two trips to Poundland, I found a few things to use as props/backgrounds.

Marble coasters and placemats: When I found marble things in Poundland, I got extremely excited. I love anything marble. Two things I was excited about was the marble coasters and placemats. There were also marble mugs, bowls, plates and cutlery. A couple of years ago I made my own marble coasters and backgrounds using sticky back plastic.

I've used these new placemats a few times in photos recently and will definitely be using the coasters too. These are good quality and look nice in photos. The coasters come in a pack of four and the placemats come in a pack of two, but each pack was £1 each.

Stationary: The next three things are copper stationary. I love copper and was very excited to see these copper stationary in glass jars. I thought these were so pretty and would be useful for props and obviously to use for their normal purpose as well.

These three pots come separately at £1 each. I actually got these a few months ago, however I went to Poundland quite recently and they were still there, so I decided to add them into this post. These posts look really nice in the background and I love the jars.

Pins: I've used so many of these pins, not for blogposts yet, but for hanging things up with them. These might seem a little strange adding them into photos, but I guess I can make them work somehow.

Paperclips: Paperclips are good props for photos because you can plot them around the photo and fill in gaps with them. They work well in photos. I use them all the time and want to start adding them into photos!

Other clips: I have absolutely no idea what these are called, so I just called them 'other clips', but they would look really nice in photos. They're bigger than the paperclips, so would fit better in bigger gaps in photos really well. Also who's idea was it to put these in a glass jar with a small round bit to get them out of? It takes me so long to get these out because it's an awkward shape, but I mean they look cute in the jar!

And thats my inexpensive prop haul. I'm going to start using these in a lot of my photos!

  1. I really need to head into Poundland and get some of these! I've got some copper pins, and I've found them really useful for filling up space in flatlays when things look a little bare

  2. I love copper and marble accents in photos! Wish we had that sort of thing available at the dollar stores here. I find a lot of my props at TJ Maxx, which is still fairly affordable! :)
