L.A. Girl PRO.conceal HD Concealer - Is it worth the hype?

Today I'm going to review a product that I recently bought after seeing it hugely hyped about, the L.A. Girl PRO.conceal HD Concealer. Concealers are something that I've been trying a few of this year (but never repurchased them), as well as using Rimmel's Wake Me Up concealer (that I had been using for years, but got rid of when I went cruelty free). I since purchased a NYX concealer that I used for a couple of months until it started going patchy and weird, so I never repurchased. Anyway, that's when I decided to try the L.A. Girl concealer. I've heard a ton of good things about this concealer and only a couple of bad things, but products work differently on everyone, so I bought it anyway.

I bought this concealer from Beauty Bay as they're not available in shops here in the UK. This was only £5. On Beauty Bay they sell a wide variety of shades and three colour correcting shades. I have the shade Porcelain, which is perfect for highlighting underneath my eyes, bridge of my nose, chin and forehead.

The packaging is a plastic squeeze tube, with a black screw on cap. The applicator is attached and is a brush applicator. I'm not too keen on the brush applicator as I prefer doe-foot applicators. Getting the product out of the tube is kind of a struggle, you have to squeeze it quite hard and then a lot of the time, too much concealer comes out.

I really love this concealer. It isn't thick nor thin, it's kind of in between, but it's lightweight. It blends out very very well, quickly and easily. When I first tried this, I was really impressed with how it blends out. I blend this with a damp Real Technique's blender and it blends SO well. The coverage is light to medium, however it is buildable. This concealer is very creamy and isn't cakey or heavy at all.

It wears for a long time and doesn't dry my skin out, thankfully. My skin doesn't need to be any drier than it already is, so I'm glad it isn't drying. Overall I love this concealer, I definitely want to buy a shade to contour with. I think it'd be a really good concealer to contour with, I just don't know what shade to get. I also want to try their colour correcting ones as I've never tried a colour correcting concealer before.

I really think this is a really good concealer and for sure worth the hype.

Pros:

  • Creamy
  • Doesn't crease
  • Good range of shades
  • Blends out very quickly and easily
  • Isn't drying, heavy or cakey

Cons:
  • Difficult to get the product out
  • Way too much can come out at once

Have you tried this concealer? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Do you own any of the colour correcting ones?

  3. Yes, these are so good! When I first ordered this, I chose the wrong shade and it was too dark for me. I use it for contouring and it is just perfect! And I love how affordable they are :)

  7. This sounds great, I have very dry skin too and it is a struggle finding concealer that doesn't settle into my dry skin and fine lines, I use a mac concealer but it is 3 times as much as this, I am definitely going to try this, great review xx
