Product worth the hype: MAC Prep + Prime Fix+

I've been using MAC's Prep + Prime Fix+ for around 5-6 months now and I recently ran out, so I've since repurchased it and thought that now I'd now write a post on it as I don't think I've properly spoken about it. (I briefly spoke about it in my MAC Collection post.)

The product description on the MAC website
"A lightweight mist of water packed with vitamins and minerals, infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber to gently sooth and refresh the skin. Gives an instant boost of hydration white delivering a soft sheen to refresh and finish makeup."

Usage:
Hold bottle 12 inches away from face and spray evenly.
Use alone or finish makeup.

The packaging of this bottle is a matte plastic bottle, with a matte black lid. You can lock the spray, which I think is useful as it's perfect for travelling and carrying around in your bag. I had the small travel bottle and it lasted me around 5-6 months. When I went to repurchase it the travel size was unavailable, so now I have the 100ml one.

The fix+ is a finishing spray. I've seen some negative review online due to people thinking it was a setting spray. You can actually use the fix+ a few different ways. One of my favourite ways to use it is to spray it onto a brush after I've picked up some eyeshadow. It intensifies the eyeshadow and stops there from being so much fallout. It's really good to use with glitter eyeshadows and pigments.

I also like to spray this after I've finished my makeup as it makes it look less cakey. It's refreshing and I like to spray it throughout the day. It also has a nice scent to it.

This is one of my favourite products that I use pretty much daily. I originally got it because I wanted to use it for my eyeshadow, but I do like using it to refresh and spray after my makeup. I think this product is definitely worth the hype. The 30ml (travel size) is £10 and the 100ml bottle is £17!

Have you tried fix+? Do you like finishing sprays?

  1. I haven't tried it but I do like to use a spray to finish my make up to stop it looking cakey, because I have super dry skin it can easily look cakey, I am currently using the smash box primer water but will definitely pick this up once that has finished :) xxx

  4. As I use a lot of powder products, I love this for taking away that powdery look. I've had this for just under a year now, and I couldn't live without it. It's worth every penny. Great for giving your highlight a bit more bang, too!

  7. Ooooh I might have to try this soon! I always thought it was a setting spray like the Urban Decay one! I've been loving sprays for your face in general lately, I have the UD all nighter spray, which I find very impressive, and a toner spray from Lush called Breath of Fresh Air. There's just something so refreshing and cooling about them, so I'll probably deffo pick this MAC spray up at some point!
