Is the Maybelline Dream Blender worth the hype?

I had been wanting to try Maybelline's Dream Blender since I saw it on Maybelline New York's Instagram. I was so excited for it to come out in the UK! I love trying different beauty blenders and this one looked really good. This is smaller than most blenders, but it has a handle. The shape is different to my Real Technique's blender and isn't as squishy. You can use the sides to blend foundation on your face and the tip to blend around your nose, mouth and under your eyes which I thought sounded really good.

I first used this with my 17 foundation and honestly didn't think it blended that well. I then blended in my Rimmel concealer with it and it actually blended really nicely!

I then tried it with my Estee Lauder foundation, Clinique contour and L'Oreal concealer. It blends my Estee Lauder foundation well, although it takes a while to blend, it does the job. It blends in my L'Oreal concealer really well, but didn't blend my contour at all.

Overall I do like this blender, but it's not my favourite. It blends my concealer really nicely so I think I'll be using it for just that as I don't want to not use it. It cost £4.99 and in my opinion I don't think it's worth the hype to be honest and I really wanted to like this product.

(everyones opinions are different. If you want to try this product, please don't let my opinion put you off) :)

Have you tried this blender? If so, what are your opinions on it? What blender do you use?

  1. I thought this might be a good product, especially being on a stick, it's a shame you don't love it, think I'll stick to my BB, great review as always lovely xxx

  2. I always see this in Superdrug and think it looks so weird! It's quite small although it'd be ideal for around your nose or under your eyes xx

  5. I wasn't sure on buying this as the sponge is so small and I think the handle would make it awkward to use but it does look great to use for concealer although I don't think I'll be purchasing this as my Real Techniques does the same job. Great Review x

  7. I've been wanting to try this out as it intrigued me, I love the handle!! I think for the price id probably get it and try it out, hopefully it would work better for concealed rather than foundation! Xx
