6 affordable cruelty-free brands

When it comes to buying beauty products, I always go for affordable brands and I always try to find good quality, inexpensive products. In the time that I've been cruelty-free these past couple of years, I've found some good brands. I thought it'd be a good idea to share 6 of my favourite brands to help you; whether you're transitioning into cruelty-free or are looking for some affordable brands to try. I've decided to list some of my reviews underneath each brand over the years incase you want to read what they're like.

Barry M
Barry M is a brand that I've been using for so many years. Before I started using their makeup a few years ago, I would always buy their nail polishes. Their nail polishes are amazing and they have so many collections and a bunch of shades. Barry M's makeup items are also really good and very well priced.

Barry M's products are good quality, some of the packaging isn't the best, but it definitely doesn't make me like the brand any less. Barry M sell a wide choice of makeup items and I'm always impressed by their products. Another thing I love about this brand is that they're easy to get hold of as they're sold in stores at the Superdrug closest to me and online at their website, Superdrug's website and Boot's website.

LUSH is a brand that isn't always 100% affordable, but a lot of the products are, which is why I wanted to include it anyway. LUSH sell a large amount of skincare products and a lot of them go up in price depending on the size of the pot, which is why I always go for the smaller pots because they're more affordable. Their makeup is a little pricey and I'm not sure what its like because I've never tried it, but its more expensive than drugstore makeup. One thing I'm impressed with is their Skin Drink moisturiser as its half the price of the Clinique one I used to use and its even better, so I'm impressed with that.

LUSH is a brand that have a lot of natural and good ingredients in their products, its all handmade, 100% vegetarian and their products come in recyclable pots. I've liked everything I've tried from LUSH so far and I still have a long wish list. I just find LUSH such a great brand and they always seem to have what I'm looking for.

NYX is a brand that I love, but don't buy from there as much as some other brands; the reason being because you can only get NYX online on Boots or in selected stores around the UK (none being nearby me). I don't shop at Boots as often as Superdrug, so I don't tend to browse NYX, but I still have a few of their products and think they're an amazing brand.

NYX sell so many great products and I'm always impressed with how many choices of lip shades they sell. Their lip products are some of my favourite products and some of my most-used products are from NYX. I think they're a great brand to try if you haven't already.

I'm sure you've all heard of Makeup Revolution and their products by now because they're a very popular brand. Makeup Revolution never fail to amaze me, especially with their eyeshadows. They sell a huge amount of products, which are great quality. You can get a 32 eyeshadow palette for £8, which is highly pigmented and great quality.

I did used to use Makeup Revolution a lot more than I do now, but thats because I don't buy as much eyeshadows as I used to. Makeup Revolution do however, sell my favourite concealer so I repurchase that from them. I like that Makeup Revolution are easy to get hold of from my local Superdrug or online.

Zoella Beauty is definitely a brand that I love. There is a lot of bath/skincare products amongst the different ranges. I've been using Zoella Beauty products for a couple of years and haven't found anything I dislike. The sprays, the body scrubs, hand cream, bath bars and body creams are great products. I do tend to order my products online because not every Superdrug stocks them and unfortunately, the Superdrug closest to me doesn't always stock it.

Lastly, a very inexpensive brand I need to recommend to you, is MUA. MUA always amazes me with their products. Their products start at like £1, although I've had some of their nail polishes for 50p. I told you they were very inexpensive. They have a wide choice of products and I tend to use this brand a lot. My favourite eyeliner, powder and single eyeshadows are from MUA and their products are amazing quality. I can get these in the Superdrug closest to me and they're also available on Superdrug's website.

  1. This is a wonderful list, and one I can definitely agree with! I have a couple of Barry M illuminators that I'm very into! The Nyx ultimate palettes and soft matte lip creams are amazing and, as for makeup revolution, I can't stop buying their stuff! There are some really good brands here that demonstrate that you don't have to pay over the odds for something decent - I love that. xx
